Last Goodbye

If I slept, then I might wake.
A disappointment I can't take.
It's time to quit, I've played the scene.
Don't want to be a drama queen.

Envy the pretty, and the dumb.
The things I wish I could become.
If I were empty, with fine exterior,
so I wouldn't be so damn inferior

My eyes bleed pain, I'm on the floor,
where you can't see me anymore.
Can't rip the hope out of my heart.
But you wanted out, not time apart.

In my head, there's too much noise.
Pain foreseen, and later destroys.
Sever ties, and then the wrist,
take comfort that I won't be missed.

The choice to end it came from you,
But I can choose to end things too.
I'll be with you, to have and to haunt,
won't interfere with what you want.

Death appeals more than it should,
But living brought me nothing good.
Behold the spoils of being me -
Endless pain and misery.

When you have me, you're withdrawn.
You only want me when I'm gone.
And therein lies the reason why
I'll offer you one last goodbye.
