A Love Candle

You will need:

  • apple-scented oil
  • two teaspoons of dried basil
  • one cup of pink or red wax
  • heat-resistant container (milk carton or greased flower pot to be used as a candle mold)
  • a stick long enough to span the opening of the container
  • a wick long enough to hang from the stick to the bottom of the container

Warm the cup of wax, apple-scented oil and basil. Use pink wax for companionship, and red wax for love.

While the wax is melting, get your container ready. Tie the wick to the center of the stick, making sure that the stick will be level when balanced across the top of the container. The wick must always touch the bottom of the container. If your wick is light, you may choose to tie a weight to the bottom, or affix it to the bottom of the container. Remember, you will have to remove the candle from the container, so use something for a mold that you can either destroy, or that will allow easy removal of the hardened candle.

Once the wax has hardened, remove the candle from the mold, and cut the wick to the appropriate length. Carve symbols of love into the candle, symbols like hearts, or a bow and arrow for direction, etc..

Burn the candle for two hours at a time during the full Moon (for companionship), visualizing your desire and meditating during that time. If you wish, add a verbal component like:

"Light the night with my dreams,
bring love with the full Moon's beams."

This candle is generally used for romance, adoration, devotion, esteem, attachment, and infatuation, and is best created and used on Valentine's Day or May Day. During the full Moon, or when the Moon is in Aquarius or Pisces. Fridays.
