The Binding Bottle

This is a variation of the traditional witch's bottle. It can be used to neutralize the power of those who intend to:

  • hurt your reputation,
  • threaten your security in any way, or
  • do you physical harm.

You will need:

  • black thread
  • black ink pen
  • paper (parchment is best)
  • a bottle with a cork or lid
  • mortar and pestle
  • one white candle
  • four tablespoons of powdered orris root or oak moss
  • four tablespoons of sea salt
  • four tablespoons of frankincense or myrrh
  • four tablespoons of black powdered iron (available at pottery shops that produce ironstone)

Measure the dry ingredients into the mortar. Mix and grind (if necessary) with the pestle. Cut your paper to fit inside the bottle, and write on it your command. You may use something like:

"I bind the power of name of adversary
to do me any harm.
This is my will, undisturbed,
contained within this charm."

Curl the paper into a scroll, and tie it with the black thread to bind it. If you feel it necessary, wrap the thread around the scroll, as on a spool.

Place the scroll in the bottle, and pour the dry ingredients from the mortar into the bottle.

Then light the white candle, and turn the bottle counterclockways, dripping the wax over the cork or lid to seal it.

With discretion, bury the bottle in a place where it will not be disturbed, by human hand or animal. It should never be opened, or the power of the spell is lost.
